FLOATING COMMUNITY

FloatingUrbanism

Flexibility of moving is a concept for multiple sustainable housing on water. The concept of the houseboat community for multiple sustainable floating houses for South-America can be a solution for problems caused by climate change. Problems such as the rise of sea levels and extreme rainfalls can be managed by implemented in this way in new urban developments. By building new flexible floating housing communities on water in retention areas on water we are able to develop new sustainable communities that can live in energy neutral floating buildings.

Current new technologies for houseboats that we are building at the moment can reduce the use and the need for production of traditional fossil fuels. Instead we are able to produce energy for the floating buildings by integrating heat pumps, solar panels, water-saving showers. Combined with collecting separated waste and the use of sustainable materials the floating communities will contribute to work on a more sustainable life.
